Exhaust Temperature Sensor (EGTS)

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors monitor selective catalytic reduction (SCR), turbo boost, exhaust gas recirculation and the diesel particulate filter (DPF.) In conjunction with data from the Air Mass Meter; Exhaust Temperature Sensors trigger the ECU to initiate DPF regeneration whilst monitoring temperature levels of up to 900°C throughout regeneration.

Thin Film Platinum sensors are proven technology for exhaust gas temperature sensors. The element works on a positive temperature coefficient, so if the sensor’s resistance increases the exhaust temperature increases.
